- Proficiency in Accounting Software: Experience with accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, or SAP is essential for managing financial records.
- Understanding of Construction and Manufacturing Accounting: Familiarity with job costing, progress billing, and inventory management specific to construction and manufacturing.
- Taxation Knowledge: Robust knowledge of GST, income tax, and other relevant tax laws applicable to the industry.
- Bank Reconciliation: Regularly reconciling the company's bank accounts to ensure that all cash transactions are accounted for and that the recorded balance matches the actual bank balance.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitoring cash flow to ensure the company has enough liquidity to meet its obligations, such as paying suppliers, employees, and contractors.
- Tax Filing: Preparing and filing necessary tax returns such as GST (Goods and Services Tax), Income Tax, and other local taxes. The accountant ensures that the company is compliant with all taxation requirements and deadlines.
- Tax Deductions and Credits:



Identifying opportunities for tax deductions or credits that can be claimed, such as those related to construction inputs or capital investments in manufacturing machinery.
- Withholding Taxes: Calculating and paying withholding taxes on salaries, vendor payments, or contractor fees.
- Subcontractor Payments: Managing payments to subcontractors and ensuring that proper documentation (such as invoices and work completion certificates) is in place before processing payments.
- Vendor Account Reconciliation: Regularly reconciling vendor accounts to ensure that there are no discrepancies between what has been billed and what has been paid.
