Sales Engineer – Pharmaceutical Excipients

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Sales Engineer / Business Development professional with solid experience in the pharmaceutical excipients industry to develop and manage customers in the local pharmaceutical market.

The ideal candidate should have existing knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturers, formulation companies, CDMOs, or excipient/API distributors and be comfortable handling the complete B2B sales cycle—from identifying new customers and introducing products to sample evaluation, technical-commercial follow-up, negotiations, and order coordination.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify and develop new business opportunities with pharmaceutical manufacturers, formulation companies, CDMOs, and distributors.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing pharmaceutical customers and key accounts.
- Promote and sell pharmaceutical excipients such as MCC, Mannitol, SMCC, DCPA and related products.
- Generate leads, arrange customer meetings, understand requirements and develop opportunities into commercial business.
- Coordinate product sampling, customer evaluations, trials and technical follow-ups.
- Follow up with customers from the initial enquiry through quotation, negotiation and order placement.
- Develop and manage relationships with local distributors and sales partners.
- Monitor market trends, competitor products, pricing and customer requirements.
- Participate in pharmaceutical exhibitions, conferences and customer meetings to generate new business opportunities.




- Coordinate with internal technical, quality, regulatory and logistics teams to resolve customer requirements and ensure smooth order fulfilment.
- Handle customer queries and complaints and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate customer information, sales activities and pipeline updates.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Marketing, International Business or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of sales experience in pharmaceutical excipients, APIs, pharmaceutical ingredients, pharma additives, fine chemicals or a related industry.
- Robust understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and B2B sales process.
- Existing relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, formulation companies or excipient/API distributors will be an advantage.
- Basic understanding of pharmaceutical excipients and their applications is preferred.
- Good communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Ability to independently handle customer meetings and business discussions.
- Good working knowledge of English and the local language.
- Willingness to travel for customer meetings and business development activities.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience working with MCC, Mannitol, SMCC, DCPA or other pharmaceutical excipients will be strongly preferred.
