Role Description This is a full-time, on-site JAVA API role based in Gurugram. The team member will design, develop, and maintain robust Java-based APIs that integrate with ShepHertz's enterprise platform and microservices architecture. Daily responsibilities include implementing clean, efficient code, applying design patterns, reviewing peer code, and collaborating with product and QA teams to ensure high performance, scalability, and security. The role also involves troubleshooting production issues, optimizing existing services, writing technical documentation,



and participating in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning and retrospectives.
Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Software Development and Programming, with hands-on experience in Java-based backend systems.
- Practical experience with Jakarta EE and modern Java frameworks for building enterprise applications and APIs.
- Knowledge of Microservices architecture, including service decomposition, inter-service communication, and scalability.
- Ability to apply Design Patterns and best practices to create maintainable, modular, and testable code.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and API lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including query optimization and schema design.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, version control (e.g., Git), and build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
- Understanding of security principles for API development, including authentication, authorization, and data protection.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, and explicit technical communication.
