You Are:

You are a seasoned finance professional with deep expertise in accounting and revenue recognition, ideally within the software industry. You thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and possess a keen analytical mindset that enables you to navigate complex revenue scenarios with precision and insight. Your experience spans over 15 years in corporate finance, including significant exposure to revenue accounting for software and cloud-based offerings. You bring a strong foundation in US GAAP, ASC 606, and Purchase Price Accounting, and you're comfortable interpreting contractual language to ensure compliance and accuracy in revenue reporting. As a leader, you inspire and mentor teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and continuous improvement. You communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, translating complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights. You are adaptable, resourceful, and committed to operational excellence,

What You will Be Doing:

- Reviewing and analysing customer contracts to identify key terms, document accounting conclusions, and help ensure revenue is recorded in line with Synopsys's revenue recognition policy and accounting literature under ASC 606.
- Manage, coach, and scale a high-performing team of revenue analysts, establishing clear KPIs and a culture of execution.
- Work with Order Management, Sales, Legal and Credit & Collections to gather the details you need to make informed accounting decisions.
- Ensuring revenue transactions comply with the Company's business practices, including future pricing/material rights, cancellation clauses, and contracts with non-standard terms.
- Author high quality technical accounting memo's justifying revenue treatment under US GAAP for complex transactions and support in documenting and update Synopsys policies and procedures to reflect evolving ASC 606 guidance and business model changes
- Own and execute the periodic Stand-alone Selling Price (SSP) studies, establishing standard pricing bands and compliance guardrails.




- Providing guidance and suggesting improvements to the Company's Order-to-Cash and revenue recognition processes.
- Approving revenue recognition in Salesforce.com opportunities, checking that transactions align with business practices around pricing, milestones, and contract terms.
- Reviewing revenue audit packages for quarterly and year-end audits.
- Collaborate with the technical support team on automation projects, including new tools and process improvements that help reduce manual work
- Interfacing with functional departments with a customer service approach regarding all aspects of responsibilities.
- Act as the primary liaison for internal and external auditors, steering complex technical inquiries to timely resolution.

- Deliver training to cress functional teams to raise the baseline understanding of revenue recognition across the company.

What You'll Need:

- CA qualification and bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years in a corporate finance environment, with 10-12 years in revenue accounting for software/cloud-based offerings.
- Solid working knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606, and Purchase Price Accounting.
- Experience in SAP/HANA 4 and Oracle/Net suite is a plus.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality work in fast-paced environments.
- Experience interpreting and applying contractual language in revenue recognition.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to explain complex scenarios to diverse audiences.
