Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Pathologist and Lab Director based at Amara Hospital in Tirupati. The Senior Pathologist and Lab Director will oversee all pathology and laboratory services, including diagnostic reporting in histopathology, cytology, hematology, and clinical pathology. Daily responsibilities include supervising laboratory operations, ensuring quality control and regulatory compliance, validating and interpreting test results, and maintaining accurate documentation. The role involves leading and mentoring laboratory staff, collaborating with clinicians to support patient management, implementing evidence-based protocols, and driving continuous improvements in lab processes and technology.



The Senior Pathologist and Lab Director will also participate in teaching activities, case discussions, and multidisciplinary meetings to enhance clinical outcomes and professional development.

Qualifications

- Strong expertise in Pathology, with demonstrated experience in diagnostic work across histopathology and related subspecialties.
- Solid foundation in Medicine and Laboratory Medicine, enabling effective clinical correlation and support for multidisciplinary care.
- Advanced Laboratory Skills, including quality assurance, test validation, and oversight of lab workflows and safety practices.
- Proficiency in Histology techniques and interpretation, including tissue processing, staining, and reporting.
- Recognized medical qualification (MBBS) with MD/DNB in Pathology or equivalent, and relevant qualified registration/licensure.
- Prior experience in a senior pathology or lab leadership role, preferably in a multi-specialty or tertiary care hospital.
- Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring abilities, with a collaborative approach to working with clinicians and staff.
- Excellent diagnostic judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to evidence-based practices and continuous quality improvement.
- Effective communication skills to present findings, participate in clinical meetings, and support teaching and training activities.
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements in healthcare.
