Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Post Production Lead to lead and manage Dentsu AMP's end-to-end post-production function across Video Editing, Animation & Motion Graphics, and Graphic Design.

The role will be responsible for managing a full-fledged post-production team comprising Editors, Animators/Motion Designers, and Graphic Designers, while ensuring that all creative output meets the highest standards of storytelling, craft, design, and execution.

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires someone who can balance creative excellence with operational efficiency, from understanding a brief and setting the right post-production approach to allocating teams, managing workflows, reviewing work, solving execution challenges, and ensuring timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Post-Production Leadership

- Take overall ownership of the post-production function across Edit, Animation/Motion Graphics, and Graphic Design.
- Lead the post-production team and establish clear creative, technical, and delivery standards.
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously across social media, branded content, digital campaigns, films, and other video-led formats.
- Ensure every project moves seamlessly from offline edit to animation, graphics, sound, colour, finishing, and final delivery.
- Establish efficient post-production workflows that enable the team to deliver high-quality work within tight timelines.
- Act as the final point of escalation for complex post-production and execution challenges.

2. Team Leadership & People Management

- Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of Editors, Animators, Motion Designers, Graphic Designers, and other post-production specialists.
- Allocate resources based on project requirements, skill sets, timelines, and workload.
- Build a strong culture of creative collaboration, ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Identify capability gaps within the team and support training and skill development.
- Conduct regular reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve individual and team performance.
- Build and maintain a strong freelance/vendor network to support additional capacity during high-volume periods.

- Ensure the team is adequately staffed and equipped to manage business requirements.

3. Editing & Storytelling

- Provide creative direction and supervision across video editing projects.
- Review edits for storytelling, pacing, structure, transitions, performance, visual continuity, and overall impact.
- Work closely with Directors, Creative Directors, Writers, Content Teams, and Producers to translate creative intent into the final film.
- Guide editors on different storytelling approaches depending on the platform, audience, and objective.
- Ensure social-first content has strong hooks, pacing, narrative flow, and platform relevance.
- Review and approve multiple cut-downs, aspect ratios, versions, and adaptations where required.

4. Animation & Motion Graphics

- Oversee the development of animation, motion graphics, title treatments, transitions, kinetic typography, and other motion-led content.
- Guide Animators and Motion Designers on visual language, movement, pacing, and execution.
- Review animation work and ensure it is aligned with the overall creative direction and brand guidelines.
- Ensure consistency between live-action footage, animation, VFX, graphics, and other visual elements.
- Explore innovative motion techniques and emerging tools to improve the quality and efficiency of content production.

5. Graphic Design & Visual Communication

- Oversee graphic design requirements across social media, campaigns, presentations, digital assets, and video content.
- Review design output for layout, typography, composition, visual hierarchy, brand consistency, and overall aesthetic quality.
- Work closely with Creative and Content teams to translate concepts into compelling visual assets.
- Ensure graphic design and motion outputs work cohesively as part of the overall campaign identity.
- Push the team to develop fresh and visually distinctive approaches rather than relying on repetitive templates.

6. Creative Quality Control

- Establish and maintain a high creative quality bar across all post-production deliverables.
- Conduct regular creative and technical reviews before content is shared with clients or released.
- Ensure final output is free of technical errors, inconsistencies, formatting issues, and brand deviations.
- Review content across different formats, platforms, aspect ratios, resolutions, and specifications.
- Ensure final films and assets are polished across edit, sound, graphics, animation, colour, and finishing.

7. Production & Creative Collaboration

- Work closely with Directors, DOPs, Creative Directors, Content Heads, Producers, Account Teams, and Strategists throughout the production lifecycle.

- Participate in pre-production discussions to understand how post-production requirements should be planned into shoots.
- Advise production and creative teams on what can be achieved during post and flag potential challenges early.
- Ensure the creative vision established during pre-production and production is carried through into the final output.
- Collaborate with external post-production partners, studios, freelancers, and specialists when required.

8. Project Planning & Workflow Management

- Review briefs and estimate post-production requirements, timelines, resources, and dependencies.
- Create realistic post-production schedules in collaboration with Production and Project Management teams.
- Track project progress across multiple teams and ensure deadlines are met.
- Identify bottlenecks early and proactively reallocate resources where required.
- Maintain visibility on the overall post-production pipeline and upcoming workload.
- Establish efficient systems for project handovers, file management, version control, feedback, and final delivery.

9. Client & Stakeholder Management

- Participate in client reviews and presentations when required.
- Explain post-production approaches and creative decisions clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Understand client feedback and translate it into actionable direction for the post team.
- Manage expectations around timelines, revisions, feasibility, and technical requirements.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism while handling feedback, escalations, and last-minute changes.

Key Skills & Competencies

- Robust expertise across Video Editing, Animation/Motion Graphics, and Graphic Design.

- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Film, Mass Communication, Animation, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
- 10–12+ years of experience in post-production, video production, creative agencies, advertising, content studios, or production houses.
