Server Administrator

GVK Emergency Management and Research Institute (GVK EMRI) is seeking a skilled and dedicated Server Administrator to join our IT team. This role is crucial for installing, configuring, and maintaining our Windows/Linux servers and associated hardware, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability of critical systems.

Role & Responsibilities:

- Install, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux servers and associated hardware.
- Monitor server performance, resource usage, and availability using appropriate tools.
- Perform system updates, patching, and backups regularly.
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file, and print services.
- Administer storage systems and perform data backups/restores using backup tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve server-related incidents and performance issues.
- Implement and maintain server security, antivirus, and firewall policies.
- Document configurations, procedures, and system changes.
- Work closely with application, network, and database teams to ensure seamless system operations.




- Ensure compliance with IT policies, audit standards, and data protection regulations.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a Server/System Administrator.
- Solid knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux administration.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and remote access tools.
- Experience in server backup solutions and disaster recovery planning.
- Understanding of server hardware and storage systems (SAN/NAS).
- Knowledge of basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, including on-call or shift-based work
