Network Administrator

GVK Emergency Management and Research Institute (GVK EMRI) is seeking a skilled and proactive Network Administrator to join our IT team. This role is essential for installing, configuring, and supporting our LAN, WAN, and internet systems, ensuring robust network performance, availability, and security for our critical operations.

Role & Responsibilities:

- Install, configure, and support LAN, WAN, and internet systems or a segment of a network system.
- Monitor network performance, availability, and security using network monitoring tools.
- Maintain and administer routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and other network devices.
- Implement and manage network security protocols including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Perform network troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve connectivity issues.
- Manage IP address allocation, DNS, DHCP, and VLAN configurations.
- Work with service providers for leased lines, MPLS, broadband, or fiber link issues.
- Maintain documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
- Coordinate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of systems.




- Plan and implement network upgrades and maintenance activities.
- Support disaster recovery planning and implementation related to networking.
- Respond to network-related alerts, incidents, and service requests.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar role.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
- Experience with network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, etc.).
- Proficiency in configuring and managing firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Familiarity with Wi-Fi management and network access control systems.
- Working knowledge of network monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds, Nagios).
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including in a 24x7 environment if required.
