Hi ,We have an Opening for an Embedded C / IoT Firmware Engineer .Location: BangaloreEmployment Type: Full-Time (FTE)Experience: 5–8+ YearsKey SkillsEmbedded C development with strong experience in production firmware.Strong RTOS experience – ThreadX preferred; FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or embOS are also considered.Solid understanding of MCU/embedded fundamentals, including interrupts, memory maps, linker scripts, peripheral registers, and low-level programming.Hands-on experience with I2C/SPI and sensor interfacing.Experience with MQTT, including pub/sub, QoS, and keepalive tuning.Experience with device management protocols such as LwM2M, TR-069, or similar.Hands-on experience with Quectel BG96/BG95 (QAPI) and/or Telit M2MB platforms.Experience with AT command interfaces and cellular modem integration.Experience with both LLVM/Clang and GCC ARM embedded toolchains.Strong debugging skills, including memory corruption, race conditions, watchdog/reset issues, and sensor/MCU communication faults.Experience with FOTA/firmware updates, secure boot, and update integrity.Strong code review, mentoring,
and technical ownership capabilities.Preferred / Domain ExperienceDirect experience with DALI lighting control protocol or Zhaga interoperability standards.Experience with tilt/accelerometer sensors or environmental sensor integration in outdoor IoT products.Prior experience in outdoor IoT, smart infrastructure, utility, or lighting control domains.Experience taking over, reverse-engineering, and maintaining a codebase originally developed by another team or vendor.Roles & ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and take ownership of production embedded firmware subsystems.Work with RTOS-based embedded systems and integrate MCU peripherals and sensors.Analyze and understand existing firmware codebases, including code with limited documentation.Debug low-level hardware and firmware issues across MCU, sensors, communication interfaces, and cellular modems.Implement and maintain IoT communication and device-management functionality.Design and support FOTA and secure firmware update mechanisms.Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and IoT teams to deliver reliable outdoor IoT products.Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers.Support firmware bring-up and understand new MCU/platforms using reference manuals and existing code.EducationBachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.M.Tech/MS in a related field is a plus but not mandatory.Equivalent practical industry experience will also be considered.
