Quality Assurance Lead (HandsOn) Job Description

Role Overview

The Quality Assurance Lead (HandsOn) will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise applications, customerfacing websites, and mobile apps. This role combines handson test automation, QA strategy, code review, and coordination of external testing partners. The ideal candidate is a technically strong QA skilled who can design automation frameworks, write scripts, leverage AIenabled testing tools, and enforce engineering discipline across the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Test Automation & Framework Ownership

- Automation Framework Design Build, maintain, and enhance automation frameworks for web, mobile, and API testing.
- Develop automation scripts using tools such as Selenium, Appium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar.
- Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
- Ensure automation coverage for regression, smoke, sanity, and performance scenarios.

AIEnabled QA & Productivity Acceleration

- AI Testing Tools — Use AIpowered tools to accelerate script creation, test case generation, defect prediction, and exploratory testing.
- Evaluate and adopt AIdriven automation platforms to reduce manual effort and improve test accuracy.
- Drive innovation in QA through intelligent test generation, selfhealing scripts, and automated impact analysis.

Manual Testing & Functional Validation

- Functional Testing — Perform manual testing for new features, integrations, and complex workflows.
- Validate enterprise applications (ERP, POS, OMS, WMS, CRM) as well as customerfacing digital products.
- Conduct endtoend testing across web, mobile, API, and backend systems.
- Ensure test coverage for usability, accessibility, compatibility, and securityrelated scenarios.





Managing External Testers & QA Vendors

- Coordinate external QA partners for manual, automation, performance, and security testing.
- Review deliverables, test plans, and defect reports submitted by external teams.
- Ensure external testers follow internal QA standards, processes, and documentation guidelines.
- Act as the single point of contact for outsourced QA engagements.

Code Review & Quality Gate Enforcement

- Code Review — Use tools like SonarQube to review code quality, identify vulnerabilities, and enforce coding standards.
- Work with developers to remediate issues flagged by static analysis tools.
- Ensure quality gates are met before code is promoted to higher environments.

Performance, Load & Security Testing

- Conduct performance and load testing using tools like JMeter, Gatling, or k6.
- Validate application behaviour under peak loads, concurrency, and stress conditions.
- Collaborate with InfoSec teams for VAPT, SAST, DAST, and other security testing cycles.
- Ensure QA readiness for releases involving sensitive customer data or hightraffic events.

Test Planning, Documentation & Reporting

- Test Strategy — Create test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, and release readiness reports.
- Maintain detailed documentation for automation suites, test scenarios, and QA processes.
- Provide clear defect reports, RCA summaries,



and quality dashboards to stakeholders.

CrossFunctional Collaboration

- Work closely with Product, Engineering, DevOps, InfoSec, and Business teams to ensure quality across the lifecycle.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release planning sessions.
- Ensure QA alignment with agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

Continuous Improvement & QA Governance

- Establish QA standards, best practices, and reusable testing assets.
- Drive continuous improvement through automation expansion, process optimisation, and tool upgrades.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and guide developers on qualityfirst engineering practices.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

- Strong experience in test automation (Selenium, Appium, Playwright, Cypress, etc.).
- Handson experience with AIenabled testing tools and intelligent automation platforms.
- Proficiency in API testing (Postman, RestAssured, Karate).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Familiarity with code quality tools (SonarQube, Checkmarx, Fortify).
- Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling, k6).
- Ability to write scripts in Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.
- Soft Skills

- Education & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
