JOB DESCRIPTION TRIMS SOURCING MANAGER

Position: Trims Sourcing Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Trims Sourcing Manager who will be responsible for sourcing, development, costing, negotiation, vendor management, and timely procurement of garment trims and accessories. The candidate should have excellent English communication skills and be confident in dealing with suppliers, buyers, and internal departments.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end sourcing of trims and accessories such as labels, buttons, zippers, elastics, threads, hangtags, tapes, packaging materials, etc.
- Identify, develop, and maintain reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Source trims as per buyer requirements, approved specifications, quality standards, and TNA.
- Obtain quotations, compare prices, prepare costing, and conduct strong price negotiations with suppliers.
- Develop new trims and accessories according to buyer specifications and submit samples for approval.
- Ensure timely availability of trims according to production and shipment requirements.
- Coordinate with Merchandising, Production, QA, Stores, and Accounts teams for smooth execution.
- Monitor supplier performance regarding price, quality, delivery, and service.
- Resolve quality issues, shortages, delays, and other supplier-related problems.
- Maintain proper records of supplier quotations, POs, samples, approvals, and delivery status.
- Monitor market prices and identify opportunities for cost reduction and alternate sourcing.
- Ensure trims comply with applicable buyer standards, quality requirements, and compliance/restricted-substance requirements.
- Prepare regular sourcing MIS and status reports for management.




- Lead and guide the trims sourcing team and ensure timely completion of departmental activities.

Communication & Coordination Skills

- Excellent written and verbal English communication is mandatory.
- Confident in communicating with international buyers, suppliers, and vendors through email, calls, and meetings.
- Should be able to write professional emails independently.
- Good presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate specifications, quality requirements, prices, timelines, and corrective actions.
- Strong follow-up skills with suppliers and internal teams.

- Ability to manage multiple suppliers and urgent requirements.
- Strong team management and leadership skills.

Qualification & Experience

- Graduate / Post Graduate in any relevant field; qualification in Textile, Fashion, Supply Chain, or related field will be preferred.
- 6–10 years of relevant experience in trims/accessories sourcing in the garment industry.
- Experience working with export garment buyers/brands will be an advantage.
- Candidates with robust supplier networks and proven negotiation skills will be preferred.
