Role: Senior Accounts Manager
Work Location: Hyderabad

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Senior Accounts Manager with strong exposure to manufacturing, trading, and construction accounting. The candidate will be responsible for managing the overall accounts and finance function, ensuring accurate books of accounts, statutory compliance, tax compliance, financial reporting, and coordination with Statutory Auditors, Tax Consultants, Banks, and other external agencies. The candidate should be capable of independently managing accounts through year-end finalisation and Balance Sheet preparation, with strong practical knowledge of GST, Income Tax, TDS, PF, ESI, CMA data, banking requirements, and financial reporting.
1. Overall Accounts & Finance Management
- Manage the complete day-to-day accounting and finance function.
- Supervise accounting staff and ensure proper accounting controls and processes.
- Review purchase, sales, expenses, receipts, payments, journal entries, and other accounting transactions.
- Ensure timely posting and accuracy of all accounting entries.
- Review and reconcile general ledger, customer, vendor, bank, and statutory accounts.
- Ensure proper maintenance of books of accounts and supporting documentation.
- Establish appropriate accounting controls and procedures.
2. Manufacturing Accounting
- Handle accounting activities relating to manufacturing operations.
- Understand raw material, stores, consumables, production expenses, finished goods, WIP, and inventory accounting.
- Review manufacturing-related expenses and cost allocations.
- Coordinate with production and stores teams for inventory reconciliation.
- Assist management with product/project cost analysis and profitability reporting.
- Review stock valuation and related accounting adjustments.
3. Trading Accounting
- Handle accounting for trading activities, including purchases, sales, inventory, receivables, and payables.
- Review purchase and sales invoices and related GST treatment.
- Monitor customer outstanding and vendor balances.
- Conduct regular reconciliation of stock, debtors, creditors, and other trading-related accounts.
- Prepare profitability and business-wise/trading-wise reports as required by management.
4. Construction & Project Accounting
- Handle accounting for construction and project-related activities.
- Maintain project-wise/site-wise accounting.
- Monitor project expenses, material costs, labour costs, subcontractor bills, advances, retention amounts, and recoveries.
- Review contractor and subcontractor bills and applicable statutory deductions.
- Understand accounting treatment of construction WIP, project expenses, capitalisation, and project-related assets.
- Prepare project-wise cost and profitability reports.
- Reconcile project-related advances, contractor balances, and other project accounts.
5. GST Overall Responsibility
- Solid practical understanding of GST across manufacturing, trading, and construction activities.
- Review GST applicability and accounting treatment on purchases, sales, services, works contracts, subcontractors, and other transactions.
- Review GST returns and ensure timely compliance.
- Monitor and reconcile Input Tax Credit (ITC) with books and GST records.
- Review GST reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Understand applicable provisions relating to reverse charge, works contracts, subcontractors, advances, credit/debit notes, and other GST matters.
- Coordinate with GST consultants and authorities wherever required.
- Assist in handling GST notices, assessments, audits, and related matters.
6. Income Tax & TDS
- Coordinate and ensure timely completion of all Income Tax compliance.
- Coordinate with Chartered Accountants and tax consultants for tax computation and return filing.
- Provide required financial information, schedules, ledgers, and supporting documents for Income Tax matters.
- Handle and review TDS deductions, payments, returns, reconciliations, and certificates.
- Ensure appropriate TDS treatment for contractors, subcontractors, professionals, rent, interest, and other applicable payments.
- Monitor TDS receivable/payable and reconcile with books and statutory records.
- Coordinate for tax assessments, notices, tax audits, and other Income Tax-related matters.
- Ensure timely compliance with applicable statutory deadlines.
7. Finalisation of Accounts & Balance Sheet
- Take complete responsibility for year-end finalisation of accounts.
- Review Trial Balance and all major ledger balances.
- Pass year-end adjustment and closing entries.
- Review provisions, accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, outstanding liabilities, and other adjustments.
- Ensure proper accounting and valuation of inventory, WIP, fixed assets, receivables, payables, and other balances.
- Prepare/review Profit & Loss Account and Balance Sheet.
- Prepare supporting schedules and notes required for audit and financial statements.
- Coordinate with the Statutory Auditor / Chartered Accountant for finalisation of Balance Sheets.
- Provide audit schedules, confirmations, reconciliations, and supporting documents.
- Respond to audit queries and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
- Coordinate with management and auditors until the accounts are fully finalised.
8. CMA Data & Banking Requirements
- Prepare and/or coordinate preparation of CMA Data required by banks and financial institutions.
- Prepare financial information required for working capital limits, term loans, renewals, and other banking facilities.
- Prepare historical and projected financial statements.
- Prepare projected Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and fund-flow information as required.
- Prepare working capital statements and projections.
- Coordinate with banks regarding financial information, statements, and documentation.
- Monitor banking limits, utilisation, interest, charges, and related accounting entries.
- Assist management in providing financial information required for loan proposals and renewals.
9. PF, ESI & Labour-Related Statutory Compliance
- Ensure timely accounting and compliance relating to Provident Fund (PF/EPF).
- Ensure timely ESI calculations, deductions, payments, and returns.
- Review employee-related statutory deductions and liabilities.
- Reconcile PF, ESI, and other employee-related statutory balances with books.
- Coordinate with HR/payroll teams for salary-related accounting and statutory deductions.
- Ensure proper accounting of employee advances, reimbursements, deductions, and statutory liabilities.
- Coordinate with consultants/agencies for PF, ESI, and other applicable labour-related compliance.
- Assist in handling PF/ESI inspections, notices, and related matters.
10. Audit & Statutory Compliance
- Coordinate with Statutory Auditors, Internal Auditors, Tax Auditors, and other professional advisors.
- Prepare and provide audit schedules and supporting documentation.
- Review audit requirements and ensure timely submission of information.
- Coordinate closure of audit queries and observations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting, tax, GST, and statutory requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation for all statutory and financial records.
11. MIS & Management Reporting
- Prepare monthly and periodic financial reports for management.
- Prepare profitability, expense, receivable, payable, inventory, cash flow, and project-wise reports.
- Analyse financial performance and highlight significant variances.
- Prepare business-wise and activity-wise financial information covering manufacturing, trading, and construction operations.
- Provide management with accurate and timely financial information for decision-making.
- Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements.
12. Reconciliation & Internal Controls
- Ensure regular reconciliation of bank accounts, debtors, creditors, GST, TDS, PF, ESI, inventory, advances, and inter-company accounts, where applicable.
- Identify discrepancies and ensure timely corrective action.
- Strengthen internal accounting controls and prevent errors and irregularities.
- Review accounting processes and recommend improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
- B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / CMA / equivalent qualification preferred.
- 812+ years of relevant experience in accounts and finance, preferably with exposure to multiple business activities.
- Strong experience in manufacturing, trading, and construction accounting.
- Practical knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, and statutory compliance.
- Experience in coordinating with Statutory Auditors and Chartered Accountants for Balance Sheet finalisation.
- Experience in preparing or coordinating CMA Data and bank financial requirements.
- Strong knowledge of Tally Prime / ERP and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
- Ability to independently manage the accounts function and supervise accounting personnel.

- Can independently manage the entire accounts function.
- Has hands-on exposure to manufacturing, trading, and construction businesses.
- Can take the books of accounts through finalisation and Balance Sheet preparation.
- Can confidently coordinate with auditors and Chartered Accountants.
- Has strong practical knowledge of GST and Income Tax.
- Understands TDS, PF, ESI, and other statutory compliances.
- Can prepare or coordinate CMA data for banks.
- Can manage accounting teams and ensure timely completion of work.
- Is capable of identifying accounting, tax, and compliance issues before they become problems.
- Has good communication skills and can effectively coordinate with management, auditors, banks, consultants, vendors, and employees.
