Job Overview

We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer who is technically strong, hands-on, and capable of leading a small team of 34 Data Engineers. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in designing, developing, and optimizing data engineering solutions while also managing day-to-day technical activities of the team.

Candidates currently based in Hyderabad or those who are ready to relocate to Hyderabad are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and mentor a team of 3–4 Data Engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platforms.
- Be hands-on with data engineering development, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Work closely with business, product, and technical teams to understand data requirements.
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for large-scale data processing.
- Ensure data quality, reliability, availability, and security.
- Review code, establish engineering best practices, and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
- Participate in architecture and technical design discussions.
- Drive continuous improvement in data engineering processes and solutions.
- Manage task allocation, technical delivery,



and timelines for the team.

Required Technical Skills

- Strong hands-on experience in Data Engineering.
- Excellent proficiency in Python / SQL.
- Strong experience with ETL/ELT and data pipelines.
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS / Azure / GCP.
- Good knowledge of Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, and data modeling.
- Experience with distributed data processing technologies such as Spark / PySpark.
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow or similar.
- Strong understanding of database concepts, performance tuning, and data integration.
- Good understanding of CI/CD, Git, and Agile development practices.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Leadership Skills

- Proven experience managing or technically leading a team of 3–4 members.
- Ability to mentor engineers and conduct technical reviews.
- Robust communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to take ownership of technical delivery and resolve complex issues independently.
- Strong balance of technical expertise + people leadership.

Candidate Preferences

- Immediate joiners / candidates with short notice period are highly preferred.
- Candidates currently in Hyderabad preferred.
- Candidates from other locations must be willing to relocate to Hyderabad.
- Must be comfortable working from office 5 days a week.
- Strong hands-on technical capability is mandatory; this is not a purely managerial role.
