MEP Electrical Engineer ResponsibilitiesDesign and review electrical systems for buildings, including LV/MV power distribution, lighting, emergency power, and earthing.

- Prepare and review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLD), load schedules, cable schedules, and layouts.
- Coordinate electrical works with mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, fire-fighting, architectural, and structural teams.
- Supervise electrical installation work at site and ensure it follows approved drawings and specifications.
- Check installation of cables, cable trays, conduits, DBs, panels, transformers, generators, UPS, lighting, and earthing systems.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documents.
- Inspect materials and workmanship and ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and safety requirements.




- Monitor project progress and coordinate with contractors/subcontractors to resolve site issues.
- Conduct and witness testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Prepare and review inspection requests, test reports, snag lists, and commissioning documents.
- Check quantities, measurements, and BOQ items for electrical works.
- Attend site meetings and coordinate with consultants, contractors, and clients.
- Identify design clashes and coordinate their resolution, including through BIM/Revit/AutoCAD where applicable.
- Ensure electrical works comply with relevant standards such as IEC, BS, NEC, local authority requirements, and project specifications.
- Monitor electrical safety and ensure proper PPE, isolation/LOTO, and protected working practices.
- Review as-built drawings and O&M; documentation before project handover.
