A2Z Accounting Solutions (a2zaccounting.co.uk) is a UK Chartered Certified Accountancy (ACCA) firm supporting UK limited-company clients. We are hiring a UK Payroll Team Lead to run our payroll function, lead the team, and own client delivery.

Minimum 5 years hands-on UK payroll experience is essential. This is a leadership role for someone who is hands-on: you will manage the full UK payroll cycle, lead and develop the payroll team, and speak directly with UK business owners to resolve queries end to end.

What you will do

- Lead the payroll team: set standards, review work, and own accuracy and deadlines
- Run end-to-end UK payroll for a portfolio of clients (weekly and monthly)
- Process RTI submissions to HMRC (FPS/EPS), auto-enrolment pensions, and year-end (P60/P11D)
- Handle PAYE, NIC, statutory pay (SSP/SMP/SPP), student loans, attachments of earnings, and CIS where applicable
- Own client relationships: answer calls and emails, explain payroll clearly, and fix issues without escalation

You must have

- Minimum 5 years hands-on UK payroll experience (PAYE/RTI,



auto-enrolment, HMRC). This is a hard requirement
- Experience leading or supervising a payroll team or bureau
- Full, confident fluency in spoken and written English for daily UK client contact
- Working knowledge of UK payroll software (BrightPay, Sage, Xero or IRIS)
- An approachable, calm manner and genuine enjoyment of solving client problems

- You have less than 5 years UK payroll experience
- Your experience is Indian payroll only
- You have never led or supervised a team
- You are not fully fluent in spoken English
- Not willing to commit to minimum of 3 years of commitment

The role

- Full time, remote, UK hours (8am-5pm, Mon-Fri)
- Dedicated to A2Z only - no other engagements
- Salary: INR 75,000 to 90,000 per month starting, depending on skills and experience
