Roles & Responsibilities
Operate and set VMC machines for precision machining of components.
Set up jobs according to production drawings, process sheets and work instructions.
Load and unload raw materials and components safely.
Perform tool setting, tool changes and offset corrections.
Read and understand engineering drawings and dimensional specifications.
Check job dimensions during machining using Vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge and other measuring instruments.
Monitor machining operations and make necessary corrections to maintain component accuracy.
Understand and perform basic G-code and M-code corrections.
Select appropriate cutting tools and machining parameters as per the job requirement.
Ensure proper fixture/work-holding arrangement and job alignment.
Conduct first-piece and in-process inspection.
Maintain production records, tool-life records and inspection reports.
Identify machining defects and inform the supervisor/quality team.
Maintain machine cleanliness, lubrication and basic preventive-maintenance activities.
Follow 5S, safety procedures and quality standards on the shop floor.
Achieve daily production targets while maintaining required quality.
Coordinate with Production, Quality and Engineering teams for process-related issues.
