Demonstrate skills and knowledge to be a resource and support for clinical management issues:
Needs analysis for clinical requirements (material and personnel)
Monitors clinical and resource management issues.
Ensures appropriate nursing standards are set and attained.
Local policy and procedure reviews
Relevant, timely reporting.
Participates in budgetary and human resources planning and Management.
Workload management
Is able to plan and evaluate patient workload distribution and management within the designated area.
Performance Criteria
Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to achieving nursing and hospital goals.
Take systematic, time effective approach to achieve work allocated and to avoid time wastage.
Deadlines and appointment times to be consistently met.
Planning and prioritizing of tasks undertaken in consultation with Medical head.
Check the following:
Over use and wastage of resources.
Shift duty allocations and completions.
Impress stock
Cupboards, Shelves, Stores rooms, locker etc. for proper maintenance and tidiness.
Random check on ward stock, stock register and drug account.
Maintain patient and attendants physical, psychological and emotional comfort.
Difficulties arising are to be rectified before it becomes a complaint.
Tailors patient care plans and programs.
Institutes performance appraisals of all staff under his/her supervision.
Contributes substantially to the development; implementation and monitoring of staff / workload Information systems.
Participates in technical and non-technical meetings, training and shares information with peers and subordinates for their advantage.
