AWS DevOps Engineer
Role Overview:
Responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and highly available AWS cloud infrastructure. The role involves automating deployments, managing CI/CD pipelines, ensuring system reliability, and enabling observability and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and manage AWS services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, Route53, Autoscaling, Lambda, CloudWatch, ECS, EKS.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and CloudFormation.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, and other tools.
Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes (EKS).
Develop automation scripts using Linux, Bash, and Python.
Monitor systems using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Kibana.
Implement security best practices for AWS (IAM policies, encryption, secrets management).
Optimize cost and performance of AWS workloads.
Must-Have Skills:
AWS core services (EC2, VPC, IAM, Route53,
Autoscaling, Lambda, CloudWatch, ECS, EKS).
Terraform for IaC (CloudFormation is a plus).
CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins).
Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
Linux, Bash, Python scripting.
Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Kibana).
Robust understanding of networking, security, and IAM policies in AWS.
Valuable-to-Have Skills:
AWS advanced services: RDS, DynamoDB, CloudFront, Redshift, S3 lifecycle management.
Configuration management tools like Ansible.
Helm for Kubernetes deployments and OpenShift experience.
GitOps tools (Argo CD, Flux).
Cost optimization strategies and FinOps awareness.
Observability stack (ELK, OpenTelemetry).
Knowledge of PCI DSS compliance and secure DevOps practices.
