The Rolling Stock on-board design leader is part of the Project Engineering
Team.
He or she is accountable to deliver a system approved by the customer and
consistent with the project schedule. The considered systems can be:
On-board network system
Passenger announcement and information system
CCTV system
Event recorder system
Passenger counting system
Train wake-up system
Train-to-ground communication system
He or she develops system architecture by defining and allocating requirements,
evaluating design trade-offs, balancing technical risks,
defining and assessing
interfaces, and maintaining close coordination with verification and validation
activities and project deployment activities, in line with the system roadmap.
