Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Care and Patient Management:
Diagnose, treat, and manage patients with complex rheumatologic conditions, including:
Autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and vasculitis
Inflammatory musculoskeletal disorders, including ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, and gout
Soft tissue and joint disorders like fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, and carpal tunnel syndrome
Pediatric rheumatology (if applicable)
Musculoskeletal pain and systemic complications related to connective tissue diseases
Provide comprehensive care for patients with chronic conditions, including long-term management, medication adjustments, and monitoring for disease progression.
Utilize and interpret laboratory and imaging tests to assist in diagnosis and treatment decisions.
Prescribe disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), biologic therapies, and other medications for appropriate conditions.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration:
Work closely with other specialists (e.g., orthopedic surgeons,



physiotherapists, cardiologists, and pulmonologists) to offer holistic care for patients with complex rheumatologic issues.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss challenging cases and develop integrated care plans.
Mentor and supervise junior rheumatologists, residents, and medical students during clinical rounds and outpatient consultations.
Patient Counseling and Education:
Provide explicit and empathetic counseling to patients regarding their diagnosis, treatment options, and potential side effects of medications.
Educate patients and their families about managing chronic conditions, including self-management strategies, lifestyle changes, and physical therapy.
Advise on the importance of regular follow-ups, preventive care, and monitoring for potential complications of autoimmune diseases.
