About the Role

Agility Robotics is building the world's most capable humanoid robots, and we're looking for an engineering leader to build the simulation team to own software at the foundation of it. This is a greenfield role: you'll define the team's charter, create the roadmap, hire and develop its engineers, and establish the infrastructure.

You'll work at the intersection of physics simulation, hardware abstraction, and robot learning — partnering closely with our AI, Controls, Perception Sensors, Hardware Interfaces, Quality Assurance, and Systems Integration teams to build simulation environments that accelerate development, provide insights into the system, and enable rapid validation.





About the Work
Build and lead a current Simulation team from the ground up — including defining scope, hiring engineers, and establishing team culture and practices
Architect and own the hardware abstraction layer connecting sensors, actuators, and physical hardware to simulation environments
Develop and integrate physics simulators using open-source frameworks, with a focus on fidelity, performance, and sim-to-real transfer
Partner with AI, Controls, Perception Sensors, Hardware Interfaces, and Systems Integration teams to support recent robot development and capability expansion
Define what success looks like for simulation at Agility — tooling, workflows, coverage, and metrics — and drive the team to deliver it
