The Head of Construction will be responsible for leading and overseeing the end-to-end construction activities across the organization's real estate projects. The role requires strong expertise in project execution, construction planning, quality control, cost management, safety, vendor management, and timely project delivery.

The incumbent will provide strategic and operational leadership to project teams while ensuring that all projects are delivered in accordance with approved designs, specifications, budgets, timelines, quality standards, and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Construction & Project Execution

- Lead and oversee construction activities across multiple residential and/or commercial projects.
- Ensure projects are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, timelines, and budgets.
- Establish construction strategies, execution plans, milestones, and monitoring mechanisms.
- Drive timely completion and handover of projects.

2. Planning & Project Monitoring

- Review project schedules, construction programs, resource plans, and critical milestones.
- Monitor project progress through regular site reviews and MIS reports.
- Identify potential delays, bottlenecks, and risks and implement corrective measures.
- Ensure effective coordination between construction, planning, design, procurement, finance, sales, and CRM teams.

3. Quality Management

- Establish and maintain stringent quality standards throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with approved specifications, materials, structural requirements, and quality benchmarks.
- Conduct regular quality audits and inspections.
- Ensure timely resolution of construction defects and non-conformities.

4. Cost & Resource Management





- Monitor project costs and ensure construction activities remain within approved budgets.
- Optimize manpower, materials, equipment, and other resources.
- Work closely with procurement and commercial teams for cost-effective sourcing and execution.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality.

5. Contractor & Consultant Management

- Manage and evaluate contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors.
- Ensure adherence to contractual commitments, project schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Review contractor performance and initiate corrective actions wherever required.
- Build strong relationships with key project stakeholders.

6. Safety & Compliance

- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards at all project sites.
- Ensure compliance with applicable statutory approvals, building codes, regulations, and project requirements.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all construction sites.
- Conduct regular safety reviews and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

7. Team Leadership

- Lead, mentor, and develop project and construction teams.
- Define responsibilities, performance expectations, and accountability across teams.
- Build a high-performance culture focused on quality, timelines, ownership, and execution excellence.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and identify training requirements.

8. Stakeholder Coordination





- Coordinate with senior management, architects, structural consultants, MEP consultants, authorities, contractors, and internal departments.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress, risks, costs, and key milestones.
- Facilitate quick decision-making and resolution of critical project issues.

Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory;
- Master's degree in Construction Management / Project Management will be an added advantage.
- 12+ years of relevant experience in real estate construction/project execution.
- Solid experience in handling large-scale residential and/or commercial projects.
- Proven experience in managing multiple projects and large construction teams.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project planning, quality control, contracts, and safety management.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Robust commercial understanding and ability to manage project costs.
- Proficiency in project management and construction monitoring tools/software.
- Candidates with experience in reputed real estate developers or large EPC/construction organizations will be preferred.
