Role Description The Fashion Design Intern will support the design team in developing collections, from concept to sample creation, for VASTREA's modern Indian-inspired garments. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with sketching and technical drawings, researching trends and textiles, preparing mood boards, and helping with fittings and sample adjustments. The intern will also support tasks such as organizing fabric swatches, coordinating with vendors, and contributing creative ideas for lookbooks and visual content. This is a full time hybrid role based in Jamshedpur,
with regular on-site collaboration and some flexibility for work-from-home tasks.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Fashion Design and Fashion Styling, with the ability to translate concepts into wearable looks.
- Knowledge of Textiles, including fabric properties, drape, and suitability for different silhouettes.
- Basic to intermediate Sewing skills and understanding of garment construction techniques.
- Graphic Design skills for creating mood boards, digital sketches, and presentation materials.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Fashion Design or a related field.
- Proficiency with design tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop or similar) and familiarity with fashion CAD is an advantage.
- Attention to detail, strong sense of aesthetics, and interest in contemporary Indian fashion.
- Ability to work collaboratively on-site in Jamshedpur and manage tasks independently when working from home.
