ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for coordinating and managing engineering and procurement activities for Combined Cycle Power Plants (CCPP), Gas-Based Power Plants, and associated utility systems.
Hands-on experience in managing engineering and procurement activities for large turbo machinery packages and Balance of Plant (BoP) systems within Combined Cycle and Gas-Based Power Projects is highly desirable.
Education Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Chemical, or Power Engineering.
Experience Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in Power Sector projects. At least 7 years in Project Engineering or Project Management roles in a Power Project
Experience in EPC/EPCM project execution is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Execution & Coordination
· Lead and coordinate project engineering and procurement activities from project kick-off through completion.
· Act as the focal point between Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and Client teams.
· Monitor project progress against approved milestones and schedules.
· Ensure timely issuance of engineering deliverables and effective closure of action items.
2. Engineering Management
· Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities covering Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls, Civil & Structural, and Process/Utilities disciplines.
· Monitor engineering deliverables, resolve interface issues, and ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
· Track engineering manhours and overall performance.
3. Schedule, Procurement & Construction Support
· Monitor project progress against Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 schedules.
· Identify schedule risks, critical path issues, and implement recovery actions when required.
· Detailed tracking of equipment and material procurement activities including MRs, TBEs, PRs, POs, vendor document reviews, fabrication, inspections, delivery schedules,
and supplier coordination.
· Provide engineering support to site teams and assist in resolving technical and field-related issues.
4. Client, Risk & Quality Management
· Interface with clients, consultants, licensors, and key project stakeholders.
· Prepare progress reports, presentations, and support project review meetings.
· Maintain project risk registers, support Change Management (MOC), and evaluate the impact of scope changes.
· Ensure compliance with quality requirements, ISO procedures, HSE standards, audits, and lessons learned initiatives.
Project Exposure Experience in Combined Cycle Power Plants (CCPP), Gas Turbine Power Plants, Captive Power Plants, and associated utility systems.
