Job Description – Manager CAD (Jewellery)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Manager CAD to lead the jewellery CAD design function. The role will be responsible for developing accurate, production-ready CAD designs for gold, natural diamond, and LGD jewellery, while ensuring design quality, cost optimisation, and timely product development.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the CAD design team and allocate work as per collection and business requirements.

- Create and review CAD designs for rings, earrings, pendants, necklaces, bracelets, bangles, and other jewellery categories.

- Convert sketches, reference images, and product briefs into technically accurate, production-ready CAD files.

- Ensure correct stone setting, metal weight, dimensions, comfort, durability, and manufacturability of designs.

- Review and approve CAD files before release for sampling and production.

- Coordinate with Design, Product Development, Merchandising, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and QC teams.

- Ensure designs are aligned with market trends, customer preferences, target price points, and brand requirements.

- Manage CAD development timelines, revisions, approvals, and team productivity.

- Identify and resolve technical issues related to casting, stone setting, polishing, plating, finishing, and product durability.

- Maintain a structured repository of CAD files, design revisions, approvals,



and product development status.

- Support the development of recent collections for gold, natural diamond, bridal, and LGD jewellery.

- Train and guide junior CAD designers to improve technical skills and design quality.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 7–10 years of relevant experience in jewellery CAD designing, including team-handling experience.

- Proficiency in Matrix Software (MatrixGold) is preferred for this role.

- Working knowledge of Rhino or other jewellery CAD software will be an added advantage.

- Ability to create accurate, production-ready CAD files using Matrix Software for gold, natural diamond, and LGD jewellery.

- Strong understanding of jewellery construction, stone setting, metal-weight optimisation, dimensions, and production feasibility.

- Knowledge of jewellery manufacturing processes, including casting, setting, polishing, plating, and finishing.

- Diploma or Degree in Jewellery Design, CAD Design, Gemology, or a related field is preferred.

- Strong attention to detail, creativity, problem-solving ability, and communication skills.
