Job Title: Firmware Developer
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, unit test, and debug x86/ARM-based UEFI BIOS and low-level firmware components.
Lead board bring-up activities for reference platforms, prototype designs, and customer hardware.
Collaborate closely with silicon design, hardware, validation, and OS driver teams to resolve low-level platform issues.
Implement industry-standard interfaces and bus protocols including PCIe, USB, NVMe, SATA, I2C/SPI, and Power Management (ACPI/SoC power states).
Debug complex hardware-firmware integration issues using hardware debuggers, logic analyzers, and protocol tools.
Required Technical Skills & Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in BIOS/UEFI firmware development.
Programming: Expert-level proficiency in C programming and x86/ARM assembly language.
Firmware Codebases: Practical experience with at least one major BIOS codebase: AMI (Aptio), Insyde, Phoenix BIOS, or open-source solutions (EDK II, coreboot).
Standards & Protocols: Solid knowledge of UEFI specifications, ACPI, SMBIOS, PCIe hierarchy, NVMe, and power management states (C-states/P-states).
