Job Title: Data Entry Operator - Accounts Department
Department: Accounts & Finance
Reporting To: Accounts Manager / Finance Head

Job Purpose
The Data Entry Operator - Accounts is responsible for accurate and timely entry of accounting data into Tally ERP, maintaining financial records, and supporting day-to-day accounting operations in compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter accounting transactions accurately in Tally (ERP 9 / Tally Prime) including:
- Purchase invoices
- Sales invoices
- Payments and receipts
- Journal vouchers
- Debit/Credit notes
- Maintain ledgers, vouchers, and supporting documents.
- Record bank transactions and assist in bank reconciliation.
- Maintain vendor and customer master data in Tally.
- Track outstanding receivables and payables.
- Assist in preparation of:
- Trial balance
- Monthly reports
- GST-related data (returns support)
- Ensure proper filing and documentation of invoices and financial records (physical and digital).
- Coordinate with the Accounts team for data verification and corrections.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of financial information.
- Support auditors and internal reviews by providing required data.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Mandatory: Hands-on working knowledge of Tally software.
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of GST and statutory accounting (preferred).
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
- Ability to work under deadlines and handle repetitive data tasks efficiently.
Educational Qualification
- B.Com / M.Com / Diploma in Accounting / Commerce
- Certification in Tally (preferred)
Experience
- 1-2 years of experience in accounts data entry or similar role
- Freshers with strong Tally knowledge may also be considered
