A Music Teacher in a CBSE-affiliated school is responsible for teaching vocal and/or instrumental music to students across primary, middle, and senior classes. The role focuses on developing students’ musical skills, creativity, and appreciation for music while preparing them for performances, competitions, and internal assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
Teach vocal and/or instrumental music as per CBSE guidelines

Train students in basic to advanced concepts such as rhythm, melody, pitch, and notation

Conduct regular music classes using interactive and practical methods

Prepare students for school assemblies, annual functions, competitions, and cultural events

Identify and nurture students’ musical talents

Teach patriotic songs, prayers, and school songs for daily assemblies

Organize and manage choir, band, or music groups

Prepare lesson plans and maintain records of student progress

Conduct assessments, practical exams, and evaluations

Maintain and manage musical instruments and equipment

Collaborate with other teachers for interdisciplinary activities





Ensure discipline and a creative learning environment

Eligibility Criteria:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music (Vocal/Instrumental)

Formal training or certification in music (e.g., from a recognized institute)

Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a school (preferably CBSE)

Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of vocal and/or instrumental music

Ability to play one or more musical instruments (e.g., harmonium, keyboard, tabla, guitar)

Valuable voice quality and sense of rhythm and pitch

Excellent communication and classroom management skills

Creativity and ability to engage students in music activities

Event management and coordination skills
