Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and optimize NC programs using AP100 software for laser cutting (e.g., CO2/fiber lasers) and turret punch presses.

Perform part programming, including importing CAD drawings, auto/manual nesting, tool selection/assignment, sequencing, lead-in/lead-out setup, and common line cutting where applicable.

Optimize sheet layouts to maximize material usage and minimize waste through efficient nesting techniques.

Generate and simulate NC code, verify programs for errors, and ensure compatibility with machine specifications.

Adjust programming parameters based on material type, thickness, machine capabilities, and quality requirements.

Collaborate with production team, machine operators, and supervisors to troubleshoot programming issues, reduce setup times, and meet deadlines.

Maintain accurate documentation of programs, nesting reports, time/material estimates, and any modifications.

Perform routine checks on program efficiency and suggest improvements for better throughput and quality.





Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.

Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, CAD/CAM, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Proven experience in AP100 (Amada AP100US or similar versions) programming for laser cutting and/or turret punch presses — mandatory.

Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, including punching, laser cutting, and combo operations.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files (DXF, DWG, etc.).

Familiarity with nesting optimization, automatic tool assignment, and NC code generation/simulation.

Basic to intermediate computer skills; experience with CAD/CAM software is essential.

Valuable problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and efficiency.

Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting and handle multiple priorities.
