Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Bharatanatyam Dance Teacher to train students in classical Indian dance. The teacher will be responsible for developing students’ technical skills, cultural understanding, and stage performance abilities while fostering discipline and creativity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Bharatanatyam dance techniques, including adavus, mudras, abhinaya, and choreography
- Plan and conduct structured dance classes for different age groups and skill levels
- Prepare students for stage performances, competitions, and cultural events
- Develop lesson plans aligned with learning objectives and student progress
- Train students in rhythm, expressions, posture, and coordination
- Organize and participate in school functions, annual days, and cultural programs
- Monitor and evaluate student progress regularly
- Encourage appreciation of Indian classical dance and cultural heritage
- Maintain discipline and ensure a positive learning workplace
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Formal training in Bharatanatyam (Diploma/Degree/Certification from a recognized institution)
- Minimum 2-5 years of teaching or performance experience
- Strong knowledge of classical dance theory and practical aspects
- Ability to choreograph and train students for performances
- Good communication and classroom management skills
- Passion for teaching and mentoring students
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in handling school or academy students
- Ability to integrate creative choreography with traditional techniques
- Knowledge of Carnatic music basics is an added advantage
- Stage performance experience
Working Conditions:
- School/academy-based role
- May require extended hours during events and rehearsals
- Involvement in cultural and extracurricular activities
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
