Geotechnical Lab Technician

We are looking for a seasoned Geotechnical Laboratory Technician to join our team. If you have a solid track record in soil and rock testing and can handle the end-to-end responsibilities of a busy lab, this is the role for you.

Job Profile

In this role, you will be the backbone of our testing operations. We need someone who is not just comfortable with the equipment but also understands the "why" behind every test. You will be responsible for ensuring that all testing is carried out as per the relevant IS Codes and international standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Core Testing: Independently conduct a wide array of tests including Atterberg Limits, Grain Size Analysis (Sieve & Hydrometer), Proctor Compaction, and CBR.
- Advanced Testing: Expertly handle Triaxial (UU, CU, CD), Direct Shear, and Oedometer (Consolidation) testing.
- Reporting: Take full ownership of data entry and the preparation of detailed Lab Reports. You should be able to draft formal technical summaries for our Geotechnical Engineers.
- Calibration & Maintenance:



Regularly check and calibrate lab apparatus to ensure zero errors in readings.
- Site Coordination: Occasionally supervise the collection and handling of undisturbed samples (UDS) from project sites to ensure they reach the lab in prime condition.
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of core experience in a reputed Geotechnical or Civil Engineering laboratory.
- Education: Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering or Geology.
- Technical Knowledge: Thorough understanding of IS: 2720 and other relevant testing codes.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Excel (for data calculation) and Word (for reporting).
- Solid eye for detail—you should be able to spot anomalies in soil behavior during testing.
- Ability to manage lab helpers and junior staff effectively.
