Internationalization Software Engineer

The Globalization Experience Team is searching for an Internationalization Software Engineer responsible for creating, enhancing, and maintaining robust software and tooling so SAS products work correctly for global users across languages, locales, and character sets. This role focuses on building and integrating foundational internationalization capabilities—Unicode correctness, locale‑sensitive formatting and sorting, and string externalization/resource management—while partnering with product teams to embed best practices early in the software development cycle. You’ll also use AI-assisted techniques (when appropriate) to accelerate analysis, automation, and documentation, helping teams deliver global-ready software efficiently and consistently.
As an Internationalization AI Software Developer, you will:
Design, develop, and maintain software, libraries, and tooling that enable product teams to efficiently build high‑quality, global‑ready software in compliance with SAS Internationalization guidelines and standards.




Work effectively in mature and legacy code to resolve customer-impacting defects, coordinating with support and product teams to deliver patch updates for high-priority fixes with robust testing and regression awareness to protect production behavior
Partner closely with cross‑functional stakeholders—including product development teams, product managers, project managers, support engineers, and testers—to integrate internationalization best practices early and throughout the software development lifecycle.
Collaborate with internationalization testers to guide testing strategies, investigate defects, and drive engineering improvements that result in high‑quality, globally usable product deliverables.
Use AI-assisted tools responsibly as part of day‑to‑day engineering (e.g., accelerating code review and refactoring suggestions, log/defect triage, test generation, and documentation) while ensuring cor
