Job Description
THE WORK
Client calls. Understand a business, or a fund’s strategy, well
enough to explain it to an investor in four sentences.
Diligence. Issue the requisition list, then chase the client until
the data room is actually full. In the first month of any mandate
this is most of the job.
Drafting. Blind teasers, one-pagers, sections of decks and
memoranda. You will be edited hard and often.
Investor lists. Sector, stage, cheque size, and what a fund or an
LP has actually written in the last twelve months rather than
what its website claims.
Outreach and tracking. Every email, every reply, every next
step, logged on the day it happens.
Meetings. Sit in, take the notes, send the follow-up before the
day ends.
