The Labour Officer will be responsible for managing labour relations, contractor coordination, manpower availability, labour welfare, and discipline across all project sites. The role acts as the primary point of contact for all labour and contractual manpower matters and ensures smooth workforce operations in support of project execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Labour Management at Site
- Act as the primary point of contact for all labour-related matters at project sites.
- Maintain labour discipline, attendance, productivity, and workforce engagement.
- Handle day-to-day labour concerns, disputes, grievances, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure proper coordination between site supervisors and labour teams.
- Monitor labour deployment and workforce utilization as per project requirements.
- Conduct regular interactions with workers to maintain smooth site operations.
- Ensure timely resolution of labour issues to avoid project disruptions.
2. Contractor & Labour Sourcing
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable labour contractors.
- Arrange skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled manpower as per project requirements.
- Maintain an updated database of labour contractors and manpower availability.
- Ensure timely mobilization and deployment of labour for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Coordinate with contractors for urgent and emergency manpower requirements.
- Monitor contractor performance, workforce quality, and labour availability.
- Develop and maintain robust relationships with labour contractors and workforce suppliers.
3. Labour Welfare & Compliance
- Ensure availability of basic labour welfare facilities at project sites and labour camps.
- Address emergency situations related to labour, worker welfare, safety, and accommodation.
- Support implementation and adherence to labour laws and statutory compliance requirements.
