Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Design and create original clothing, accessories, and footwear by utilizing knowledge of current fashion trends and consumer preferences.
- Utilize Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, to produce detailed sketches and technical drawings.
- Develop patterns and prototypes using CAD software while ensuring garment construction meets quality standards.
- Collaborate with product lifecycle management teams to oversee the design process from concept to production.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends in fashion retail and merchandising.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure designs are executed accurately and efficiently.
- Participate in fittings and provide feedback on garment adjustments as needed.
- Present design concepts to stakeholders, incorporating feedback into final designs.
- Stay updated on color theory, fabric selection,
and sewing techniques to enhance design quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and CAD software is essential.
- Robust understanding of garment construction techniques and sewing machine operation.
- Experience in fashion styling, graphic design, or illustration is a plus.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management processes within the fashion industry.
- Knowledge of theater costume design can be beneficial for specific projects.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
