The Transport In-Charge in a CBSE-affiliated school is responsible for managing and supervising the school’s transportation system, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely movement of students and staff. The role includes coordination of buses, drivers, routes, and compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan and manage school transport routes for safe and timely pick-up and drop of students

Supervise drivers, conductors, and transport staff

Ensure all school vehicles are well-maintained, serviced, and in proper working condition

Monitor vehicle documentation such as insurance, permits, fitness certificates, and pollution certificates

Ensure adherence to safety norms and government transport regulations

Maintain records of vehicles, fuel usage, maintenance, and driver attendance

Handle transport-related complaints and resolve issues promptly

Coordinate with parents regarding route changes, delays, or emergencies

Conduct regular safety checks and drills for students and staff

Manage GPS tracking systems (if available)

Ensure discipline and proper behavior of transport staff

Prepare transport reports and updates for school management

Eligibility Criteria:
Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or relevant experience in transport management

Minimum 2 years of experience in transport coordination (preferably in a school)

Knowledge of transport rules, vehicle maintenance, and safety standards

Required Skills:
Strong organizational and coordination skills

Good communication and problem-solving abilities

Knowledge of vehicle operations and safety regulations

Ability to handle emergencies and make quick decisions

Leadership and team management skills
