A TGT Geography teacher is responsible for teaching Geography to middle and secondary school students (usually Grade 6 to 10). The role focuses on helping students understand physical features of the Earth, human-setting interaction, and geographical concepts through practical and engaging methods.

Key Responsibilities:
Teach Geography as per CBSE Board curriculum

Explain topics such as physical geography (landforms, climate), human geography (population, resources), and map work

Prepare lesson plans, notes, and teaching materials

Use maps, globes, diagrams, and digital tools for effective teaching

Conduct regular tests, assignments, and assessments

Evaluate students’ work and provide constructive feedback

Develop students’ observation, analytical, and map-reading skills

Organize projects, field trips, and geography-related activities





Maintain classroom discipline and a positive learning environment

Participate in school events and academic meetings

Communicate with parents regarding students’ progress

Eligibility Criteria:
B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) is mandatory

CTET/TET qualification (as required)

Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of geographical concepts

Good communication and presentation skills

Ability to explain concepts using practical examples

Skills in map reading and interpretation

Classroom management and organizational skills
