M.Sc Nursing (preferably Pediatrics / Obstetrics & Gynecology) and 2-5 years experience:
Roles & Responsibilities - Nursing Superintendent (NS)

1. Nursing Administration & Leadership
- Oversee overall nursing services in pediatric and obstetrics & gynecology departments.
- Plan, organize, and manage nursing operations to ensure quality patient care.
- Develop and implement nursing policies, protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

2. Staff Management
- Supervise, guide, and support nursing staff across all shifts.
- Prepare duty rosters, manage staffing levels, and ensure adequate coverage.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to nursing staff.
- Identify training needs and organize continuous education programs.

3. Patient Care Quality
- Ensure delivery of secure, effective, and patient-centered nursing care.
- Monitor clinical practices and ensure adherence to treatment protocols.
- Handle patient complaints and resolve issues related to nursing care.

4. Maternal & Pediatric Care Oversight
- Ensure proper antenatal, labor, postnatal,



and neonatal care services.
- Monitor high-risk cases and coordinate with consultants for critical patients.
- Ensure proper newborn care practices and infection control measures.

5. Infection Control & Safety
- Implement and monitor infection control policies across departments.
- Ensure compliance with biomedical waste management protocols.
- Maintain hygiene, safety standards, and NABH guidelines.

6. Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with doctors, administration, HR, pharmacy, and other departments.
- Ensure smooth patient flow from admission to discharge.
- Participate in hospital meetings and management discussions.

7. Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure accurate maintenance of nursing records, reports, and audits.
- Monitor legal and statutory compliance related to nursing services.
- Maintain records for inspections and accreditation requirements.
