Job Summary

A Panchakarma Therapist is responsible for delivering classical Ayurvedic detoxification and rejuvenation therapies under the guidance of an Ayurveda physician. The therapist ensures safe, hygienic, and effective administration of treatments while maintaining patient comfort and therapeutic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Therapy Administration
- Perform Panchakarma therapies such as:
- Abhyanga (oil massage)
- Swedana (steam therapy)
- Shirodhara
- Basti (medicated enema assistance)
- Nasya
- Pizhichil, Njavarakizhi, Udwarthana
- Follow physician’s prescription and treatment protocols strictly

2. Patient Care
- Prepare patients for therapies (positioning, draping, comfort)
- Explain procedures to patients before therapy
- Monitor patient response during and after treatment
- Maintain dignity, privacy, and safety of patients

3. Therapy Preparation
- Prepare oils, herbal decoctions, and therapy materials
- Maintain correct temperature and hygiene standards
- Ensure proper sterilization and cleanliness of equipment

4. Documentation




- Record therapy details in patient files
- Report patient progress and concerns to doctors
- Maintain treatment logs and daily registers

5. Hygiene & Safety
- Maintain cleanliness of therapy rooms
- Follow infection control protocols
- Dispose of waste as per biomedical guidelines

6. Equipment Maintenance
- Ensure proper functioning of therapy tables, steam units, dhara stands, etc.
- Report damages or maintenance issues promptly

7. Coordination
- Work closely with Ayurveda doctors and nursing staff
- Assist in patient scheduling and therapy planning

Qualifications
- Certificate / Diploma in Panchakarma Therapy

(Recognized institute - preferably Govt./NCVET/AYUSH approved)
- Basic knowledge of Ayurveda principles

Experience
- Fresher or 1-3 years of experience in Ayurveda hospital / wellness centre

Skills Required:
- Knowledge of Panchakarma procedures
- Valuable communication and patient handl
