Kwalee's Legal team are looking for a commercially focused Legal Counsel based in our Bangalore studio, working on site 5 days per week.
The Legal Counsel will have experience working as an in-house counsel in a fast paced environment, and a solid background in managing commercial contracts.
Role Purpose:
- Oversee & manage commercial contracts between Kwalee and external partners.
- Oversee Kwalee’s IP and protect it against all known infringements.
- Assist and advise in all general legal matters including commercial agreements, employment law, trademarks, patents and IP protection.
- Support the implementation of new procedures across the organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee & manage commercial contracts between Kwalee and external partners.
- Maintain an up to date log of all legal takedown activity.
- Proactively seek out games and other works which infringe Kwalee IP.
- Work closely with external and internal lawyers and game platform holders / stores to take down infringing works by whatever means at our disposal including issuing cease and desists, and communicating with infringers.
- Build a strong relationship with internal development teams and the 3rd party publishing team to build strong cases for the takedown of clones and other infringers.
- Oversee and manage any research staff assigned to you to help find infringing works.
- Manage and oversee Kwalee’s trademarks and define the strategy for additional trademarks for the company and its products.
- Assist in all legal matters and agreements
