Job Summary:
The PGT Economics is responsible for teaching Economics to senior secondary students (Classes XI & XII), fostering analytical thinking, and preparing students for board examinations and higher studies. The role involves effective curriculum delivery, assessment, and academic mentoring in line with prescribed educational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Academic Responsibilities
- Teach Economics for Classes XI and XII as per the prescribed syllabus
- Plan and deliver engaging, concept-driven lessons using contemporary teaching methodologies
- Integrate current economic issues and data into classroom discussions
- Prepare students for board exams and competitive examinations
Student Mentoring & Development
- Guide students in academic planning and career pathways in Economics
- Provide remedial teaching and enrichment support where required
- Encourage critical thinking, data interpretation, and research skills
- Supervise projects, presentations, and practical work
Institutional Responsibilities
- Participate in faculty meetings, training programs, and workshops
- Contribute to school events, examinations, and co-curricular activities
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress
- Maintain classroom discipline and a positive learning environment
Educational Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Economics (M.A./M.Sc. Economics):
- B.Ed. (mandatory as per board norms)
Experience
- Minimum 2-5 years of teaching experience at senior secondary level (preferred)
- Freshers with strong academic background may be considered
