Job Description

Job Overview:

The MTO Designer provides solutions to problems in the Material Takeoff discipline without supervisory approval and will evaluate and select solutions from established operating procedures and scientific procedures.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Develop detailed material take-off (MTO) reports and drawings for the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) projects within our organization
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to accurately estimate quantities of materials required for project execution
Generate comprehensive and precise MTO data sheets, ensuring adherence to project specifications, industry codes, and standards
Utilize specialized software and tools to perform quantity calculations, including AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
Conduct thorough reviews of project documentation such as drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM) to identify discrepancies, resolve conflicts,



and ensure accuracy in material take-offs
Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and validate relevant technical documentation, certifications, and material specifications
Assist in the identification and evaluation of alternate materials to optimize costs, improve project performance, and maintain compliance with project requirements
Continuously update and maintain accurate project databases and tracking systems for MTO data, ensuring effective retrieval and sharing of information across project teams
Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams during material selection, ensuring compatibility, functionality, and compliance with project specifications
Participate in design reviews and technical meetings, offering input to ensure the accuracy and completeness of project deliverables
Continuously evaluate and assess material consumption trends, proposing process improvements for enhanced effici
