Job Description for ER Technician
- Patient Assessment & Care: Evaluate patient conditions, take vital signs (BP, pulse, temp), record histories, and provide immediate care like CPR, oxygen, wound care (bandaging, suturing), and spinal immobilization.
- Procedures & Assistance: Assist nurses and doctors with exams, draw blood, perform EKGs, collect specimens (urine, blood), and help with stabilizing patients during emergencies (e.g., cardiac arrest).
- Transport & Equipment: Operate emergency vehicles, safely lift and move patients, and ensure all medical equipment (defibrillators, ventilators) is clean, stocked, and ready.
- Communication & Documentation: Communicate effectively with dispatch, receiving hospitals, and patients/families, providing updates and maintaining accurate patient records.
- Support Duties: Manage patient hygiene, help with patient flow in the ER, provide basic education (crutches/canes), and maintain cleanliness.
