Role Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain IBM AIX operating systems
- Perform AIX OS upgrades, patching, and fixes (TL/SP)
- Manage LPARs, HMC, and PowerVM environments
- Monitor system performance and capacity planning
- Handle user administration, security, and access control
- Perform system backups and recovery using mksysb, NIM, Tivoli/TSM
- Troubleshoot system, performance, and hardware-related issues
- Perform root cause analysis and document incidents
- Provide support during planned activities and outages
- Participate in 24x7 support and on-call rotations
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Technical Skills:
Solid experience with IBM AIX (6.1 / 7.1 / 7.2) Hands-on experience with LPAR
HMC
PowerVM Expertise in NIM server/client configuration Knowledge of mksysb
