API Testing (Java & Selenium) (6-8 Year Experience)

About the Role

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute test cases for REST and SOAP APIs:
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and performance testing:
- Validate API responses including:
- Status codes
- Headers
- Payloads (JSON/XML)
- Schema structures
- Build and maintain Postman collections with assertions and environment variables
- Develop and maintain API automation scripts using tools like REST Assured
- Collaborate with developers, BAs, and DevOps teams to ensure high-quality delivery
- Participate in test planning, execution, and defect management:
- Analyze logs (e.g., Splunk) and troubleshoot issues during defect triage
- Validate API security mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, authentication/authorization)
- Ensure data consistency across microservices and backend systems
- Prepare test reports, metrics, and documentation
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for automated test execution

Required Skills:




- 5+ years of QA experience in enterprise-level environments
- Solid experience in:
- Test planning, execution, and defect tracking
- Functional, integration, and regression testing
- Hands-on experience with:
- Postman (collections, assertions, environment variables)
- REST Assured (Java) for API automation
- Solid understanding of:
- JSON, XML, XPath, XSD
- API validation techniques
- Knowledge of SQL for backend data validation
- Familiarity with automation frameworks (TestNG, JUnit, Maven/Gradle)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred Skills
- Experience with tools such as:
- SOAP UI, Swagger, Karate, JMeter
- Exposure to CI/CD tools:
- Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions
- Experience in log analysis tools like Splunk
- Understanding of API security testing (OAuth, JWT)
- Ability to identify automation opportunities and impro
