Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Windows, Azure and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Technical Trainer with strong hands-on expertise in Windows Server 2025, Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM), Microsoft Intune, Azure administration, cloud security and enterprise production support. The role requires a practitioner who can translate real-world operational experience into engaging instructor-led sessions, guided labs, simulations, assessments and troubleshooting workshops. The successful candidate will combine technical depth, structured training capability and an operations mindset focused on service reliability, security, automation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery
- Deliver instructor-led classroom, virtual and blended training for Windows Server 2025, SCCM/MECM, Intune, Azure, cloud security and SRE practices.
- Conduct practical demonstrations, guided labs, troubleshooting clinics, production simulations, case studies and capstone projects.
- Train learners across foundation, intermediate and advanced levels, including administrators, support engineers and operations professionals.
- Assess learner performance through quizzes, assignments, scenario-based evaluations, labs and projects.
- Mentor learners on certification pathways, operational best practices and job readiness.
Curriculum and Lab Development
- Design and update curricula, presentations, facilitator guides, learner manuals, lab guides, assessments and project templates.
- Build realistic lab environments covering on-premises, hybrid and Azure-based Windows infrastructure.
- Create production-inspired scenarios for incident response, root-cause analysis, capacity constraints, patch failures, identity issues, endpoint compliance and service recovery.
- Maintain content alignment with current Microsoft technologies, enterprise security practices and operational requirements.
Subject Matter Expertise and Operational Support
- Act as the Windows, endpoint management, Azure and SRE subject matter expert for internal and customer-facing capability initiatives.
- Support technical discovery, curriculum mapping, lab feasibility reviews, trainer evaluations and pre-sales solution discussions.
- Demonstrate structured diagnosis of live and simulated production incidents using logs, metrics, events, traces and system health data.
- Coach learners in incident triage, escalation, service restoration, root-cause analysis, problem management and preventive action planning.
- Contribute reusable troubleshooting playbooks, runbooks, knowledge articles and operational checklists.
Required Technical Expertise Windows Server 2025 and Core Infrastructure
- Installation, configuration, administration and migration of Windows Server 2025 environments.
- Active Directory Domain Services, Microsoft Entra ID integration, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, certificates and hybrid identity.
- Hyper-V, failover clustering, storage, file services, networking, backup, recovery, business continuity and disaster recovery.
- PowerShell administration, automation and remote management.
- Security hardening, patching, performance monitoring and troubleshooting of boot, authentication, replication, networking, storage and service issues.
SCCM / Microsoft Configuration Manager
- Architecture, site roles, client deployment, boundaries, collections and role-based administration.
- Operating system deployment, task sequences, application packaging and deployment, software updates, compliance settings and reporting.
- Distribution point, management point, WSUS/SUP, content distribution, client health and log-based troubleshooting.
- Cloud Management Gateway, tenant attach, co-management and integration with Intune.
- Experience diagnosing failed deployments, patching, inventory, policy, content and client communication issues.
Microsoft Intune and Modern Endpoint Management
- Device enrolment , Windows Autopilot, configuration profiles, compliance policies and update rings.
- Win32 and Microsoft 365 application deployment, app protection, endpoint security and device lifecycle management.
- Conditional Access integration, role-based access control, Endpoint Analytics, reporting and Remote Help concepts.
- Co-management workload planning and transition from traditional to cloud-managed endpoints.
- Hands-on troubleshooting of enrolment , synchronization, policy, application, certificate and compliance issues.
Microsoft Azure and Hybrid Cloud
- Azure virtual machines, storage, virtual networks, VPN, load balancing, backup, recovery, monitoring and governance.
- Microsoft Entra ID, role-based access control, managed identities, Azure Policy and hybrid connectivity.
- Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, alerting, Kusto Query Language fundamentals and operational dashboards.
- Azure Arc and hybrid Windows management concepts.
- Cloud migration, availability, scalability, resilience, capacity and cost-awareness fundamentals.
Cloud and Infrastructure Security
- Zero Trust principles, identity security, multifactor authentication, Conditional Access and least-privilege access.
- Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud, vulnerability management and endpoint protection concepts.
- Security baselines, system hardening, patch governance, privileged access, encryption,
certificates and secrets management.
- Security monitoring, incident response, threat detection, remediation and compliance controls.
- Ability to integrate security considerations into Windows, endpoint, Azure and SRE training scenarios.
Site Reliability Engineering and Production Operations
- Strong understanding of service level indicators, service level objectives, service level agreements, error budgets and reliability engineering principles.
- Monitoring, observability, alert design, dashboarding, log correlation and capacity planning.
- Incident, problem and change management; on-call practices; escalation; post-incident reviews; and blameless root-cause analysis.
- Automation of operational tasks using PowerShell, Azure Automation, runbooks and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
- Knowledge of high availability, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, backup validation, performance tuning and resilience testing.
- Practical experience troubleshooting production issues involving CPU, memory, disk, network, services, authentication, certificates, patching, application deployment and cloud dependencies.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
- 8–15 years of overall experience, including at least 5 years in Windows infrastructure, endpoint management, Azure or production operations.
- Demonstrable experience delivering technical training to enterprise learners.
- Hands-on experience handling or supporting critical production incidents and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
- Experience creating training content, practical labs, assessments and scenario-based learning assets.
- Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, documentation and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and adapt delivery to different learner proficiency levels.
Preferred Certifications
- Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT).
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-800 and AZ-801).
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104).
- Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102).
- Microsoft security certification such as SC-200, SC-300, AZ-500 or SC-100.
- ITIL Foundation or equivalent service-management certification.
- SRE, DevOps, Azure architecture or cloud security certification is desirable.
