Purpose To ensure reliable operation, calibration support, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of instrumentation systems, electrical equipment, and machine level utilities across the OSD manufacturing and packing areas. The role supports uninterrupted production, equipment safety, and GMP compliance.

Job Responsibilities / Deliverables

Instrumentation Maintenance

Responsible for routine and breakdown maintenance of all process instruments across manufacturing & packing areas:

Temperature sensors (RTDs, Thermocouples)

Pressure gauges, pressure transmitters

Vacuum and differential pressure gauges

Humidity & temperature indicators

Flow switches / level sensors

Load cells, limit switches, proximity sensors

Control panel instrumentation

Calibration assistance and verification of instruments

Support calibration activities as per schedule (internal or external).

Electrical Maintenance

Perform Electrical Troubleshooting For OSD Equipment Such As

HSMG, FBD, Coater, Blister Line, Strip Packing, Bottle Line, Cartoners, Tablet Compression machine, Capsule filling machine,

Dust Collectors, Sifters, Blenders, Compressors (machine level electrical)

Maintain and troubleshoot

Motors, starters, contactors, overload relays

VFDs / soft starters / control circuits

Lighting, power points, sockets in production areas

Panel wiring and housekeeping of MCC/PCC/SMDB/DB (as per safety norms)

Ensure proper functioning of safety interlocks and machine protections.

PLC, BMS, DCS & Instrumentation Interface

Assist in fault finding related to PLC I/O modules, sensors, actuators, solenoids.

Work with automation team for panel-level wiring, analog / digital signal tracing.

Support in maintaining BMS panels, AHU control wiring,



differential pressure sensors.

Carry out basic troubleshooting of DCS control loops and field device connections.

Replace transmitters, limit switches, RTDs, flow switches as needed.

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

Execute PM schedules for all electrical and Manufacturing area equipment.

Conduct IR tests, continuity, relay testing, contact resistance testing, insulation health checks.

Follow OEM guidelines for maintenance of HT/LT gear.

Identify early warning signals and prevent electrical failures.

Maintain spare parts and critical components availability.

GMP, Documentation & Compliance

Maintain maintenance records as per GDP and ALCOA+ principles.

Ensure compliance with regulatory standards: Schedule M, WHO GMP, MHRA, USFDA.

Support equipment qualification activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) when required.

Lead maintenance-related change controls

Record all maintenance activities in job cards, logbooks

Maintain history cards for key equipment and motors.

Assist in maintaining engineering documentation

Calibration records

Maintenance checklists

Breakdown reports

Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement

Implement 5S, Kaizen, TPM, problem-solving techniques in daily work.

Participate in Kaizen events and contribute to energy-saving initiatives.

Recommend improvements in distribution, monitoring, and safety.

Qualifications Education

ITI / Diploma in Electrical/Instrumentation Trade (mandatory).

Hands on experience with OSD manufacturing & packing equipment.

Additional Notes Skills & Competencies

Sound knowledge of instrumentation principles & electrical circuits.

Ability to read wiring diagrams, P&IDs;, control circuit drawings.

Strong troubleshooting capability in automation, sensors, VFDs, and panels.

Familiarity with GMP & pharma manufacturing workplace.

Understanding of pneumatic systems (basic).

Positive coordination with production, QA, and engineering teams.
