Role Title : Systems Engineer

Work Location : Chennai, Delhi, New Mumbai

Experience 6 - 10+ years (with 5+ years in Super Cluster, ExaData, OCI with strong Skills in Linux)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Systems Engineer with strong expertise in Oracle Engineered Systems and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The role involves administration, optimization, and lifecycle management of Oracle SuperCluster, Oracle Exadata Database Machine, and Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) platforms supporting mission-critical enterprise applications.

The engineer will be responsible for ensuring high availability, operational stability, performance optimization, and patch management of large-scale Oracle infrastructure environments running on Solaris and Linux platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Engineered Systems Administration

Install, configure, and manage Oracle SuperCluster, Exadata Database Machine, and Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) infrastructure.

Administer compute nodes, storage cells, InfiniBand networking, and virtualization components in engineered systems environments.

Conduct health checks, diagnostics, firmware updates, and lifecycle management for Oracle engineered systems.

Operating System Administration

Administer and manage Oracle Solaris environments in SuperCluster platforms.

Perform system administration for Oracle Linux / Red Hat Linux environments supporting Exadata and OCI workloads.

Manage OS patching, kernel updates, performance tuning, and security hardening.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Operations

Provision and manage OCI infrastructure resources including:

oCompute instances oVirtual Cloud Networks (VCN)

oBlock and Object Storage oIdentity and Access Management (IAM)

Support OCI-based Exadata services and hybrid cloud integrations.

Infrastructure Monitoring &

- Incident Management





Monitor engineered systems using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and OCI monitoring tools.

Troubleshoot infrastructure alerts, performance issues, and system faults.

Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.

Patching &

- Lifecycle Management

Execute quarterly patching and upgrades across:

oEngineered systems firmware oOperating systems oGrid infrastructure and supporting components

Coordinate maintenance windows and ensure minimal downtime for business-critical systems.

Automation &

- Operational Excellence

Develop automation scripts using Shell, Python, or Ansible to improve operational efficiency.

Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Capacity &

- Performance Management

Monitor CPU, memory, storage, and network utilization.

Perform capacity planning and infrastructure scaling for growing workloads.

Experience Profile

6–10 years of experience in Oracle infrastructure and engineered systems administration.

Hands-on experience supporting large production Banking environments running on Exadata or SuperCluster.

Experience working in 24x7 mission-critical infrastructure environments.

Familiarity with ITIL-based service management processes.

Key Competencies

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Ability to support high availability infrastructure platforms

Experience working with cross-functional infrastructure and database teams

Strong documentation and operational discipline

Working experience in OVM Migration projects

Experience in Oracle VM Manager LDOM Administration

Expertise in installation configuration, add knowledge of best practices and ability to apply best practices in implementation as and when required.

Expertise in networking principles like ssh/tcp/udp

Nice to Have

Experience with Zero Downtime Patching (ZDP)

Knowledge of OCI automation tools (Terraform, OCI CLI)

Exposure to banking or financial services infrastructure environments

Familiarity with GoldenGate or large-scale database replication environments

Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes, Terraform and Ansible
