JD:

A skilled candidate with extensive experience in Sybase database administration and development, up to, and including, version 16.x. Experience of administrating other RDBMS, ideally on the cloud, would be a distinct advantage.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Installing, configuring, patching and maintaining Sybase databases across Development and Test environments.

- Provide Development support – including writing and debugging stored procedures, testing scripts, mock data creation.
- Monitoring and analysing Sybase logs to ensure database availability and integrity.
- Creation and maintenance of databases, roles, and permissions, performance tuning, query optimization, and backup/recovery.
- Security Management: Ensuring databases environments are secure, compliant and in line with Bank standards.
- Experience debugging, tuning, modifying,



and creating complex stored procedures.
- Using knowledge and experience around security, backup, recovery, and archiving make recommendations regarding process improvements.
- Utilize database and shell scripting for routine database tasks.

Experience/Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience working as a Sybase Database Administrator.
- Robust written and verbal communication.
- Comfortable writing and analysing complicated stored procedures, involving queries using complex joins and filter criteria.
- Batch scripting skills. PowerShell is a plus.
- Not mandatory, but some Java knowledge is a plus.
