Operator undertaking a low complexity role where mínimal training is required to fulfill the task(s). E.g. packer, lean ‘spider’ etc. Training role for new operators. Works under very close supervision with a daily focus; no previous experience required.

Job purpose

The role of a Production Operator is to complete a production process operation according to standard operating procedures. Responsible for operating in a safe, productive and high-quality manner. These duties may include loading / unloading, inspection, packing, material movement, recording production statistics, operating or monitoring equipment operation and/or processes. Additionally, they are expected to actively participate in problem solving activities to help the team meet its goals.

Principal accountabilities
- Safety:
- Always adheres to safety standards
- Identifies opportunities to improve safety
- Quality:
- To carry out standard operations effectively in a protected manner to a high-quality standard. E.g. loading / unloading, inspecting and packing.




- Checks quality of work according to JM and customer specifications.
- Delivery:
- Accountable for following standard processes to complete tasks.
- Escalates issues to ensure a timely resolution.
- Identifies and escalates opportunities for improvement.
- Cost:
- Supports CAPS implementation, as part of this using lean tools such a problem solving and 5S.
- Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and the implementation of best practice principles, to enhance performance and operations.
- People:
- Supports in the training of other Operators.

- Energy:
- Report energy inefficiencies or equipment abnormalities.
- Operate equipment and machinery in a manner that minimizes energy consumption without compromising productivity and quality.
- Actively participate in energy conservation projects or Kaizen activities.
